Day One: We will travel to Bettendorf, IA to the Isle Casino Hotel, our home for the next two nights. This evening we will be entertained at the Circa ‘21 Dinner Playhouse. Our visit will begin with a magnificent meal served in their beautifully restored historic 1920s theatre. Then, we will sit back and enjoy The Dixie Swim Team. Five Southern women, whose friendship began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. This hilarious and touching comedy focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years.
Day Two: There will be an included hot breakfast at the hotel this morning. We will begin our morning at the Quad City Botanical Center in Rock Island, IL. We will experience the Chocolate Tour, taking a closer look at the sweet lure of chocolate. We’ll examine the history of chocolate, follow the chocolate making process, take a visit to a chocolate tree, and taste tropical-flavored fudges. After our chocolate experience we will travel to Moline, IL to board the Celebration Belle. The Schadler family owns and actively operates Celebration River Cruises. Joe Schadler started the excursion boat business in Davenport, IA in 1984. The four hour Big Band Cruise with the Celebration Band will carry you back to those wonderful sounds of such bands as Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, and The Jack Morgan Orchestra. Your cruise will also include homemade sticky rolls and fruit at departure. An included lunch will be served during the cruise today. This evening there is free time to enjoy the gaming action at the casino or just relax at the pool and hot tub.
Day Three: After breakfast at the hotel we will depart for the newly renovated John Deere Collectors Center and Pavilion in Moline, IL. John Deere’s dream of producing a superior self-scouring plow for the western farmer became a reality in 1848 with his first manufacturing plant located on the banks of the Mississippi River. Interactive exhibits mingle with actual John Deere equipment, creating a unique, hands-on experience. At the Collectors Center watch restorations in progress and view displays of vintage John Deere tractors and equipment. Then we travel home. |
